That was a fun, good looking OGN. From what I have seen with Ape Entertainments properties, you can always expect something to look like an entertaining cartoon or just something fun. This book was no exception. Hands down the funniest death scene of the year. I won’t give too much away other than a fish is involved. There were a few panels that I thought didn’t make much sense, but overall just a good looking book.
Story: 3.5 out of 5
Now that I am done reading it, I liked it as a whole. It meshed so well with the art style, it wasn’t too heavy. However what got to me was the dialogue in some scenes. I get how shallow these people are supposed to be, and the humor involved is great. However I felt at times it was a bit over the top and not always needed. Some name drops here and there were funny. Just expect to get what the name implies and not much more.
Dying Breath: 3.5 out of 5
So yes it is gimmicky, but it is fun overall. Like I said above know what your getting and you will be satisfied. I mean would you really expect this to be like the Walking Dead? I would love to see another volume of this made actually seeing how things went down from someone in L.A. at the time of the infections perspective. Overall though fun artwork and a silly zombie story make this one a good read if you ask me.
