“In the future, the dead don’t go away. They return as blue-light ghosts that feed off the electromagnetic waste of billions of wireless devices. While most drift about harmless and witless, some can take more solid form and become very dangerous. Detective Exorcist Alice Hotwire battles those blue-lights and any persons or entities that would use them for nefarious purposes.”
Artwork: 4.5 out of 5
Have you ever wanted to kidnap an artist and make them show you how they do things so well? No? Yeah you have, and if you have read this series before you know you want too. So Mr. Pugh, I’m coming for you! No, I’m not really but I have to tell you, this book is GORE-geous! The artwork just pops off of every page, and what stands out to the most to me in particular, are the colors used. You get this bright visually stunning book. The highlight comes from when Alice takes on her boyfriend. I was just floored. Well I guess I could also point out all the scenes where we see the, umm lets call her the victim, and she is missing her ______. AWESOME stuff!
Story: 5.0 out of 5
The first volume of this series was good, but not this good. Issue #1 of Deep Cut was really nice, in terms of building up what happened before and getting readers into this new volume. However issue #2, took it up a notch and then killed that! The story in this issue was so compelling and full of ghostly greatness that I was so sad when it ended. The dialogue in this issue drove it down that nice straight path, but when you add in the scene setting, drama and action you got a winner in your hands.
Dying Breath: 4.5 out of 5
I often find it tough to tackle single issues. I mean how much does one issue in a mini series differ from the next, especially when they are moving down the same path? This issue took this series to a new level, that I can only say ranks it at the top of the reading pile over and over again. The artwork makes your eyes so happy, that they may tear up a little but when your brain mixes that with the story it reads, you will just turn to mush in your reading chair. I can only hope that issue #3 will wrap up this series so perfectly, that I can tell you to BUY THIS BOOK AND DO IT NOW, without any questions asked.
